What Is the Difference Between Ligaplex I and Ligaplex II?

By Dr. Candy Akers

Ligaplex I and II are two different nutritional supplements that were designed by Standard Process. Standard Process makes some of the most effective nutritional supplements on the market. Healthcare practitioners have been usin Ligaplex I and Ligaplex II for over 60 years.

The following information is a summary and review based on Dr. Candy’s professional experience and recommendations. Any summary or statement has not been provided nor influenced by the manufacturer.

Both of these formulations are designed to support the musculoskeletal system. Ingredients can help to heal bones, cartilage, tendons and ligaments.

Ligaplex I and II share a lot of the same ingredients. This could make chasing the correct supplement confusing. I’m going to show how these supplements are different and which one you should take for your health goal.

The primary difference between Ligaplex I and Ligaplex II is that Ligaplex I is better suited to help heal acute or short term injuries. Ligaplex II is better for long term or chronic support of the musculoskeletal system.

The primary difference between Ligaplex I and Ligaplex IIis that Ligaplex I is better suited to help heal acute or short term injuries. Ligaplex II is better for long term or chronic support of the musculoskeletal system.

Ligaplex I has higher amounts of vitamin E, manganese and vitamin B12. These nutrients are needed in larger quantities when a lot of inflammation is present. For example, like right after an injury or surgery. This phase of healing involves a lot of swelling around the injury location and a significant amount of pain.

Chronic or long term recovery typically has less obious swellin and less pain. However, these long term or past injuries need nutrients such as vitamin A, a fat soluable vitamin that is depleted from the body during long term healing.

In practice, I useLigaplex Ifor injuries less than 8 weeks old andLigaplex IIfor the healing support of injuries older than 8 weeks.

Dr. Candy’s Pro-Tip:What’s the deal with manganese? Over the past few years we have heard a lot about emerging scientific research that ties manganese deficiency to injuries of ligaments and joints. The evidence shows that modern day deficiencies of this mineral are significantly contributing to injuries of athletes, kids, and even dogs. Most of our soils are now critically low in essential minerals like manganese, zinc and copper. Industrial farming and agriculture strip the land of nutrients. This can be caused by growing the same crop over and over - as well as herbicide chemicals like glyphosate which binds those minerals in unusable compounds.

Why Do We Need Manganese for Healthy Joints?

Manganese is an important nutrient for joint health. This mineral helps remove tissue inflammation after work or injury. Manganese also contributes to a calm demeanor and helps patients remain calm. Just a small increase in calmness can possibly prevent the effects of the wind up pain. Manganese is also needed for manufacturing cartilage and bone. Its is required for the formation of collagen too. Collagen is the tissue that builds strong ligaments and joints.
