Ligaplex Dosage For Dog With Torn ACL / MCL / CCL

I get a lot of questions about dosages when using Ligaplex for dogs with knee injuries. I use Ligaplex all the time for dog ligament injuries. This supplement can help your dog heal and it can also work to prevent injuries to the ligaments on the opposite leg. The dosage recommendations on the chart above are what I use for ligament injuries.

How Long Should I Give My Dog Ligaplex?

Dr. Candy recommends giving Ligaplex to your dog for 4-6 months based on typical healing times of bones, tendons and ligaments. After reevaluation at this point - some older dogs will benefit staying on Ligaplex long term.

When Can I See Results of Improvement?

Many families can ses significant improvement within 2-3 weeks when using Ligaplex I or Ligaplex II.

Can I Give My Do Ligaplex If They Are On Other Medications?

Yes, Ligaplex I and Ligaplex II are both safe to give with other supplements or medications. *We do not recommend discontinuing any medication or treatment that your dog is receiving without consulting with your veterinarian.

Are There Any Side Effects for Dos on Ligaplex? Is Ligaplex Safe?

I have never seen any significant side effects of Ligaplex in dogs. Some pet parents mentioned a mild stomach ache if suddenly starting a large dose. So I usually recommend starting with a half size dose for a week and then increasing your pet’s dose to the recommended amount.

Is Ligaplex by Standard Process Gluten Free?

Ligaplex I is a gluten free formula, but Ligaplex II is not. Standard Process tests all of their gluten free labeled products to meet all the regulations of the official USDA label. In cases where a patient follows a gluten free diet, I recommend the Ligaplex I product to start and then if they have to stay on on the supplement long term be sure to include natural vitamin A foods such as sweet potato, carrots and liver.

This seemed to really help my Dog’s torn ACL. He used a brace and took 3 pills twice a day. He’s a 76 lb black lab. Never had surgery, and he’s 90-95% better. I’m addition, I started taking 3 per day for my back, and it really seemed to help. It was more instant than expected.

My dog had a complete CCL (ACL in people) tear and was not a surgical candidate. This was recommended by my vet. It helped to get my dog moving and she still uses it 10 months later.

My dog couldn’t walk. Vet was talking about five thousand dollar surgery. At one point she was so bad I contemplated putting her down. Three weeks after starting this she could walk. Now she can run. She hasn’t had to take pain meds. I am forever grateful.

My vet recommended Ligaplex for my dog. The dog is a big boy (100 lbs) and I've been giving him two capsules twice a day. He is much more playful at the dog park, begging more for walks, and getting off the couch more easily.

I use Ligaplex as a preventative supplement for my dog who blew out what would be comparable to our ACL on her rear leg. After a $2600 surgery & 13 weeks of rehab I wanted to use a product that would help support her ligaments and movable joints. This product seems to provide relief and seems to help bolster her joint strength. We (God Willing) have had no further incidents, which is crucial as I am now living on a fixed income & can no longer afford huge veterinary costs as before.
